Rico is a handsome gentleman in search of a new home due to changes in his family. He is a somewhat unique boy, because he is a long coated Mastiff (a “Fluffy” ) which is the result of a recessive gene carried by some purebred Mastiffs. Rico would flourish in a home with adults or adults and older children. He does not like to socialize with other male dogs, but he can be polite with the ladies. Rico is reliably house broken, crate trained and good on a leash. Like most Mastiffs he prefers to be with his people and does not like to be alone. If you would like to give Rico a forever home please submit an application to adopt him.
Hercules is a man of mystery. He was picked up as a stray and seems to have been on his own for quite a while. He is calm and friendly and he does know how to sit on command (at least when treats are involved). Hercules is approximately 6 years old and in spite of the hard time he has been through he remains eager to please and enjoys being with his people. Hercules is being successfully treated for skin allergies that were exacerbated by his time as a stray. He is a funny low key middle aged guy looking for a soft place to land. If you have some love and space on the sofa to share please consider giving Hercules a real forever home.
If you have a soft spot for the awkward kid at the dance then Major might just be your guy. Major is a tall handsome lanky boy with movie star brown eyes and no clue how to mingle. He is currently working on his social and world navigation skills. Right now he is anxious around new people and in new environments. With proper and slow introductions Major warms up. Be warned, once he warms up he will want to play tug of war for hours. His hobbies include riding in the car (he is an excellent passenger). Dining out (plain donut holes are always waiting for him) kissing, talking and (sort of) long walks. If you have room in your life for a big goofball and the patience to help him learn how to navigate in the world please consider Major for that empty space on your sofa.
Polo was surrendered to an animal shelter in Georgia along with his brother Marco. Both were in very bad shape but Polo had the added challenge of a broken leg in addition to being extremely emaciated. In the almost 2 months he has been in rescue Polo has made enormous strides. He has undergone orthopedic surgery to repair his leg and he is steadily gaining weight. Polo is a super sweet boy who loves to be loved and reminded he is a good boy. Rehab has been hard on Polo because all he wants to do is PLAY! Laying down and taking it easy? Not so much. Polo will be a great addition to any family who is looking for their own personal miracle dog.
Beau is truly a lover! He is happiest if he can be near his people, and he will gladly accept pets, ear rubs or butt scratches from anyone willing to share them. He is very good with other dogs, cats and people, though he will sometimes unwittingly bump into them because, well, Beau can't see. His lack of sight hasn't gotten in the way of his outgoing friendly goofy personality. He is a very happy boy. He has excellent senses of smell, sound, and touch which help him navigate around his foster home and yard very well, once he learned his way around. He knows basic commands, including a new one: "Lookout," which helps prevent him from bumping into things.
Beau minds well and enjoys taking long walks and being close to people and/or other pets. Beau will do best in a home with open spaces and, more importantly, in a home where his human(s) are around much of the time. Fortunately, his foster mom can take Beau to work with her, and he is happy to be around other dogs and people. Since he can't see, he doesn't really understand "personal space," and will often want to be quite close, so if you are looking for a sweet and loyal boy to love and snuggle with Beau is your guy :)
Barney is a very handsome young owner surrender who has made it a point to fit in beautifully with his new foster pack. Although Barney has a deformed leg, he does not let it slow him down. He loves playing with other active dogs and is eager to learn new things..like how to ride an ATV! Barney is a laid back up for anything kind of boy.
He has great manners around people, other dogs, cats. While he is a super loving boy, he doesn’t always need to be the center of attention. He is polite at meal time. Being somewhat on the smaller side, Barney will fit nicely in any bed or sofa you care to share. Barney is not as mindful of his leg as he should be and would do well in a home where his people will help him take it easy when he needs to.
